“Tom is an unusually dialled-in creative presence. He sees every brief in its larger frame, stays grounded and true to the human experience of the work, and follows his cultural instincts in such compelling ways. In an industry that can tend towards repeating and echoing itself, Tom finds fresh clarity and interest more often than most. And he is an absolute pleasure to communicate and collaborate with (you'll see), with his knack for bringing people into an idea, making them part of it, and keeping the vibe generous and joyful, no matter what.” – Joe Hill, ECD at AKQA

“Tom puts the Oh! in team. Not only does he play nicely with others – bouncing ideas, taking onboard advice, pushing the work – but he adds to the culture of the agency with wit, charm, and thoughtful fun. Plus he’s a bloody good copywriter to boot” – Shannon Crowe, CD at Thinkerbell

“Weird ideas, clever strategic thinking, and excellent copywriting” – Cale Berry, Creative at Goodby Silverstein & Partners

I’ve always liked ads. One of my first baby photos was one. A man holding me up, “Have you had your hearing checked?” it read above us. Well, reads. My parents still have it on the wall. Always a creative type, when I finished school, I wanted to study Fine Art. So I did. Until I realised that while business was probably too businessy for me, fine art wasn’t businessy enough. So I packed up my pencils and moved into an Advertising degree at RMIT University instead.

In 2019 I was lucky enough to win one of six places on World’s Greatest Internship, and within the fortnight was in Berlin. Since then, I’ve had the pleasure of finishing AWARD School, working for an emerging tech agency called VERSA, at the Melbourne arm of whiteGREY (now AKQA), and as a creative for one of Australia’s most notable Indie agencies, Thinkerbell.

And now I’m here, writing this for you to read. And on top of that, I’m not sure if I’ve ever actually had my hearing checked at all.
