Reader, meet writer

“Tom puts the Oh! in team. Not only does he play nicely with others – bouncing ideas, taking onboard advice, pushing the work – but he adds to the culture of the agency with wit, charm, and thoughtful fun. Plus he’s a bloody good copywriter to boot” – Shannon Crowe, CD at Thinkerbell

I’ve always liked the idea of ads. One of my first photos was one. An old man holding baby me up high, “Have you had your hearing checked?” it read. Well, reads. My parent’s still have it blown up on the wall. But when I finished school, I wanted to study Fine Art. So I did. Until I realised that while business was too businessy for me, fine art wasn’t businessy enough. So I packed up my pencils and moved into an Advertising degree at RMIT University instead.

In 2019 I was lucky enough to win one of six places on World’s Greatest Internship, and within the fortnight was in Berlin. Since then, I’ve had the pleasure of finishing AWARD School, working for an emerging tech agency called VERSA, at the Melbourne arm of whiteGREY (now AKQA), and as a creative for one of Australia’s most notable Indie agencies, Thinkerbell.

And now I’m here, writing this for you to read, not sure if I’ve ever actually had my hearing checked at all.
